Vacation part 2-Club Serena Resort

From Carcar, instead of travelling south to the southern tip of the island, we proceeded over the mountains (see map on Vacation part 1 for detail). As always, this was a beautiful drive! Once we arrived on the western shore of Cebu Island, we had a gorgeous site of the ocean as well.

Once we finally arrived at Club Serena Resort, we didn't know what to expect. We knew we had reserved the 'tree house' room, but wasn't sure if it was actually in 'a tree'. We found out that we were the only people scheduled to be there for those two nights. The whole resort was at our disposal. You gotta love non-peak season!!!

The beach resort was really small, but nice and quiet. We felt like we were on our own private island. And to top it all off, the food was delicious. Most resorts that we have gone to (to swim) in Cebu, have not been known for their food.

This was a really pleasant experience! God knew that we needed this trip.....no distractions! One that we hope to experience again!

Oh yeah...it wasn't a real 'tree house', but it was cool anyways. Below is our room..

The bed was nice and romantic, however that wasn't the intention of this trip, haha.





Of course, it was airconditioned for good ol' Mom! We had to ask for two mats for the boys, but it came with a stocked fridge (goodies to buy), satellite tv, and a wonderfully hard pressured, hot/cold shower....something we lack in our house (the hard water pressure I mean)!





Our first meal at Club Serena....candlelight by the sea! They do have a restaurant, but we never ate inside. They were using their time wisely, with not having many customers, to repaint the walls....so we ate outside the entire time. It was nice not to have to get dressed up. We walked up to the table donning swimsuits/towels!







There were two of these little huts by the ocean for massages, but we didn't partake in that service. However, they did allow us to hang out, nap, etc...without charge for the entire trip. This was my favorite place to relax while the boys were swimming!









There were several of these canisters around the pool with fresh flowers in the water.




This was where we ate our last supper. I don't think I have ever eaten dinner by tiki lights, with my toes in the sand. The tide was low, so we didn't hear the sounds of crashing waves, but the ambience was still nice.














They also had a nice sized pool that the guys enjoyed jumping into right after swimming/snorkeling (those pics in the next posts) in the ocean.












I think that because my Mom is a floral designer, I always enjoy taking pics of different kinds of flowers. Usually her response is, "Do you know what we pay for that kind of flower here? And you have it growing in the yards there!?" :) Well, I would love to know what kind of flower/fruit the orange one is.....any guesses??

This is a map of all the beach resorts and diving areas on this side of Cebu. Moalboal is known for their beautful coral reefs and great diving spots!
